Steep started as a notebook. A sentence a day, for no one, about whatever I'd been thinking about. Nothing to review. Nothing to score. When I turned it into an app, the one rule was that the app wasn't allowed to change what the notebook was for.
The idea is older than the app. A single thought a day, sat with for a few minutes, like a cup of tea. Over months, those thoughts accumulate into something like a self-portrait. Nothing to chase. Nothing to grade. Just a slow record of what I paid attention to.
